The River Thames
I visited the Henry VIII exhibition at the British Library yesterday morning. The historian David Starkey was the guest curator and thoroughly covered the monarch’s early life, his break with the Church, and his marriages, divorces and murders. I walked along the Thames and took the tube to Hyde Park. Today I went to Hampton Court Palace with one of my friends from Cambridge and saw the half-Tudor, half-Stuart royal home. A few Hanoverians put their stamp on the rooms, too. The gardens are magnificent.
I am now sort of an expert on the British royals from Henry VII to Queen Anne. Ha!
I was lucky to meet up with a few more new friends at dinner tonight near Leicester Square. Time to pack up the laptop and prepare for Heathrow! Cheers.
