Aussie Adventures: The Conclusion

Shopping in Bondi
Here we are back in Sydney, getting ready to head to the airport. Our month long Aussie adventure has come to an end. We arrived back in Sydney late Monday night, and were greeted with a warm welcome by Jaclyn and their brand new toasty fireplace.
We had 3 days left in Sydney, and a few sights left to see. On Tuesday morning, Jimmy was kind enough to drive us to the famous Bondi Beach, where we did some shopping and took a scenic coastal walk to the town of Coogee. After a long day of walking, we met Jaclyn back in the city for a delightful Italian dinner in Darling Harbor, another area we had yet to explore.
Wednesday we headed back to Manly and spent the day hiking along the famous 11K Manly Scenic Walk to the Spit Bridge. We were rewarded with sweeping views of the harbor on the hottest July day Sydney had seen in 19 years! Lucky us. We spent the evening curled up by the fire, eating gourmet pizza and watching the Hangover-hilarious!
We began our final full day in Sydney with a manicure and pedicure at USA Nails in
Beautiful Bondi Beach, though we prefer Manly!
Neutral Bay-remember we are ladies of leisure. We were wishing we had a certain Mr. Frank Costanza with us to translate, as the nail technicians conferenced (and giggled) over Maura’s big toe. Hmmm. Post manicure we ventured back into the city, where we strolled through the Botanic Gardens and stopped at the Hyde Park Barracks Museum to learn a little more about the history of the convicts that settled Australia. Our day only got better after that. We met Jaclyn and Jimmy back in our favorite neighborhood, the Rocks. We enjoyed several beers at the Orient Hotel “the pub that rocks the Rocks” before heading back to Neutral Bay for a Thai dinner, at the same restaurant where we enjoyed our first meal in Australia. Ahhh the circle of life.
It’s hard to believe a month has gone by. We hope you’ve enjoyed reading our blog as much as we’ve enjoyed writing it. Perhaps Maura will continue it from Peru, or Marie will pick it up with coverage of the 3rd Annual West Dennis Kayak Race on Cape Cod. Only time will tell. Thank you all for your support. We couldn’t have done it without you. Cheers!
