LOVE Italy

In Florence
In Florence
Today is my mothers birthday!

Katrina and I just finished swimming in the meditteranean sea in the town of Marina Di Campo on the southern part of the island of Elba! We took a bus here, only a half hour from our little town where we are staying called Chiessi. This is PARADISE. It is exactly what we were looking for: quiet, peaceful, infinitely small and not too touristy at all which cannot be said about most of this island.

We are bonding, connecting, and of course every once and a while having a sisterly interaction, and over all our trip is entirely in the flow as I like to say. Yesterday was an entire day of travel by bus, train and then ferry, then more bus to the island and then to our little town Chiessi.

Our room is at the top of the hill and overlooks the entire little town and looks out at the Meditteranean sea with Corsica in the distance. Stunning, absolutely stunning.

Lemon and fig trees, jasmine, mock orange flowers, bougainvilla, acacia trees, pine and deciduous trees of all kinds it is lush and green.

We have of course been enjoying At our first Pizzeria together

much pizza and gelato. We both crave veggies and fruit, the latter being easier to find. We are off to go have dinner (perhaps some seafood) and then some gelato, then grocery shopping and back to Chiessi by bus. This coast reminds me of Big Sur sometimes – huge cliffs plunging into the sea and turquoise waters.

Im loving being with Katrina and sharing some with you, but I really must run as this is too incredibly expensive to be online!!! (6 Euro or 9$ per hour – the price of a meal for us!)

It is worth it to share with you and I hope you feel some meditteranean breezes coming your way as we send you kisses and hugs from Italy,

Ciao,

Heather
